about

These four canons are the result of compositional searching in the process of composing another work, not yet released (but soon). They are also documents of a learning process that I am going through in preparation for yet another work, not yet composed, namely, learning to compose canons. All of these pieces are tuned in Erlich's 12 note, hexachordal scale from 22 tET.

Tetrad Canon is the simplest of these pieces, and features a theme made up of a consonant 7-limit tetrad, plus a flat nine and sharp eleven.

AccelDecl Canon is just that, the theme accelerates and decelerates, and the successive entries do the same.

Double Canon for Two Pianos and Two Reyongs is the most complex, and eccentric, of the pieces, and uses a variety of canonical techniques rather indiscriminately. It ends with the head.

Cadence Canon is one big long cadence.
